Departmental Responsibilities
Demonstrates professional conduct effective communication and a collaborative spirit in interactions with patients families and interdisciplinary teams.
Actively contributes to department goals and supports fellow team members in achieving them.
Maintains flexibility with patient assignments shift assignments and work schedule.
Floats to other patient care areas per operational needs.
Responds when called upon to provide additional emergency services.
Attends scheduled and ad-hoc meetings and communicates accurate timely and relevant information.
Maintains all required certifications and licensure for the role. Completes annual hospital-required education by the specified deadlines.
Completes all assigned modules and competencies within assigned timeframe
Responds appropriately to both real and simulated emergency situations and demonstrates working knowledge of emergency procedures.
Equipment Supplies and Area Maintenance
Maintains supplies and equipment in the Pre-Post-Procedure areas to ensure optimal functionality and readiness.
Conducts regular inventory checks rotates stock and removes expired items to prevent waste.
Performs daily QA checks on equipment
Monitors equipment for up-to-date preventative maintenance and notifies Biomed/Facilities if any deficiencies.
Monitors inventory levels and orders timely.
Restocks Cardiac/IR areas with required supplies at end of each shift.
Keeps abreast of new equipment
Prepares for next day patient care needs per schedule.
Patient Care
Performs pre- and post-procedure patient assessment and monitoring according to the provider orders.
Develops individualized patient care plans and implements prescribed interventions with precision.
Prioritizes and carries out nursing actions adapting care to meet the patient-specific needs.
Carries out assigned nursing action establishing priorities and adapting actions to meet patients need
Administers prescribed medication with knowledge of indications expected actions and potential adverse reactions.
Demonstrates creative and critical thinking in adaptation to unique clinical situations.
Recognizes documents and reports changes in patients health status and alerts appropriate nurse of provider in a timely manner.
Reviews and validates the effectiveness of own nursing actions
Compare patient responses to expected outcomes and make necessary adjustments
Remains proficient in identifying cardiac arrhythmias and initiates appropriate interventions.
Demonstrates competency in neurological assessments and responds appropriately.
Provides continuous evaluation of patient care throughout the nursing process and recommends revisions as necessary.
Performs other duties as requested.

Maintains current knowledge of nursing techniques procedures and best practices proactively seeking opportunities to enhance professional effectiveness.
Consistently seeks and applies constructive feedback for ongoing growth and development staying informed of emerging trends in nursing.
Recommends and implements changes in techniques and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of care.
Actively participates in continuing education as required to maintain credentials and competencies.
Performs clinical skills per unit policies procedures and/or established checklists
Uses work time effectively and performs duties to the satisfaction of the manager/director
Quality
Ensures patient and families understand post discharge instructions and provides clarification as needed.
Assists in collecting and reporting data for quality and performance metrics.
Completes thorough and accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Adheres to isolation protocols and promptly communicates isolation status to all members of the care team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing Diploma required; Bachelors Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
- Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. BLS required. ACLS preferred
- Two years of experience in an acute care area (Preferably Cath Lab) is required. Will consider ICU experienced nurses with post cardiac care experience.
