Job Summary

The Assistant Principal is to be a key partner with the Principal in accomplishing the academic social emotional and behavioral goals of the school. The Assistant Principals primary job responsibilities will focus on student support systems services and policies including attendance and discipline school safety and shared supervision and evaluation of staff. The Assistant Principal collaborating with the Principal executes School Board policies and administrative guidelines procedures and processes. The candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and trust building skills as he or she works with and supports students parents and the absence of the Principal the Assistant Principal assumes responsibility for operation of the school and carries out the necessary duties. The candidate will organize and coordinate work efficiently collaborate with the school Leadership Team and central office administrators and support district-wide goals and initiatives under the direct guidance and supervision of the Principal. The candidate will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of elementary and middle school education curriculum instruction positive behavior and assessment must have the ability to multitask with deadlines and be flexible and adaptable to additional duties as necessary. The pay range for this position is $80000-$95000 per School is part of the Kingdom East School District (KESD) located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal Boston and Portland ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing hiking mountain biking fishing canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton NH and St. Johnsbury VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
