Product Owner (remote): 12 - 14 month contract
A leading UK PropTech company is seeking a Cape Town-based Product Owner to drive delivery and execution in a structured Agile environment.
This remote role offers responsibility for backlog management stakeholder engagement and contribution to product strategy providing significant exposure to international product operations and metrics-driven decision-making.
What you will be responsible for:
- Managing or supporting the product backlog to deliver measurable business value
- Translating customer and business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Supporting product roadmap decisions and balancing short-term priorities with longer-term initiatives
- Working within a structured Agile framework to ensure smooth predictable delivery
- Owning agile scrum ceremonies including Stand-ups Planning Backlog Refinement Review and Retro
- Overseeing Release Management on a monthly release cycle (with ad hoc as needed)
- Working closely with UX/UI Design Developers QA Product Marketing and Onboarding
- Acting as a key link between stakeholders clients and development teams
- Using delivery metrics and data to guide product decisions
- Supporting client-facing initiatives including integrations and custom work
Delivery environment and tools:
- Work remotely from Cape Town for a UK-based product company
- Jira for backlog structuring sprint tracking and reporting
- Agile delivery metrics (velocity burndown OKRs KPIs)
- Collaboration tools such as Slack ProductBoard Teams SharePoint and OneDrive
- Customer and support platforms such as HubSpot

What youll bring
- 2 - 6 years experience in a Product Owner or product delivery role (level considered based on experience)
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Experience managing or supporting a product backlog
- Confidence translating technical and business requirements
- Data-informed decision-making
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working remotely with international teams
Salary range: R50k - R75k PM dependent on experience and seniority
