The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager is part of the Engineering Solutions Group at XP Power Philippines and is responsible for both technical leadership and people leadership in the development of custom power delivery solutions. These solutions include DC/DC AC/DC low- and high-power and low- and high- voltage power supplies.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise with engineering management leading a team of electrical engineers through the full product lifecycle from concept and architecture through qualification and volume production while meeting customer quality cost schedule and reliability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of DC/DC and AC/DC switch-mode power supplies using a variety of power conversion topologies.
- Own product development from concept through volume production ensuring compliance with performance cost schedule quality and reliability targets.
- Drive robust DfX (Design for Manufacturability Test Reliability Cost Compliance) practices in collaboration with PCB layout mechanical manufacturing supply chain test and quality engineering teams.
- Lead research and development activities of new technologies.
- Perform or oversee circuit simulations DFMEA component stress analysis reliability predictions design verification testing and technical documentation.
- Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert providing guidance and constructive feedback during design and peer reviews.
- Support customer engagement by participating in technical discussions requirements definition and design status reviews.
- Manage team performance to support business growth customer satisfaction quality objectives and margin targets.
- Conduct regular staff and project meetings to manage schedules priorities risks and resource allocation.
- Lead hiring onboarding retention mentoring and professional development of engineering talent.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 15 years of experience in power supply or related power electronics design
- 35 years of engineering management experience
- In-depth knowledge of power conversion principles control theory and topologies.
- Deep experience in mixed-signal power electronics design simulation and testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with magnetics design including custom transformers and inductors.
- Experience designing EMC/EMI filters to meet regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to high voltage is a plus.
- Proficiency in modeling simulation and laboratory validation of power electronics designs.
- Strong project management and supervisory capabilities.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with strategic leadership.
- Solid understanding of business drivers product cost structures and development tradeoffs.
