Job Summary

Control Engineer

Direct Hire 1st Shift

We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer to support industrial operations through PLC/DCS maintenance automation support and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems. This role is hands-on and includes field work close collaboration with maintenance teams and support of plant instrumentation and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain troubleshoot and program PLC systems including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and SLC 500

  • Support and optimize DCS systems (DeltaV)

  • Perform field work to diagnose and resolve control electrical and instrumentation issues

  • Support maintenance and instrumentation teams with troubleshooting and system improvements

  • Manage and support Burner Management Systems (BMS)

  • Maintain and utilize data historians (e.g. AVEVA PI)

  • Support environmental compliance systems including CEMS/COMS

  • Develop and implement reliability and automation improvement strategies

  • Lead or support controls-related projects upgrades and documentation

  • Ensure control systems meet safety operational and regulatory requirements

Qualifications / Experience Needed

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

  • 4 years of industrial controls or automation engineering experience
    (chemical coke plant power generation or heavy industrial environment preferred)

  • Hands-on PLC experience

  • Experience performing field-based troubleshooting and support

  • Experience supporting maintenance teams

  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation sensors and control devices

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and DeltaV DCS

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an operating plant environment
