The purpose of this position would be to introduce the student to the mechanic culture of repair. This will include developing the students problem solving abilities while introducing the candidate to the very real physical aspects of repairing and maintaining various college owned vehicles and equipment with the goal of understanding the relationship between cleverly designed machines and the reality of repairing and maintaining them.Department: Grounds

Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing maintenance operation and repair tasks of various college vehicles and equipment. This is to include oil changes tire rotations and repairs filter replacement tasks brake repair and replacement tasks and other duties such as the modification of existing equipment and the salvage of retired equipment. The candidate will be working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions so they must dress appropriately with hard toe shoes or boots and long pants. They can expect to get dirty.
Qualifications for the position:
Candidate must be a declared mechanical engineering major and at least eighteen years of age. A valid drivers license is required as the operation of college owned vehicles is a given.
