Job Summary

Description

The NSI assists with the instruction supervision and development of students and the operation of the unit as directed by the Senior Naval Sciense Instructors (SNSI). Other responsibilities are: Teach the Naval Science curriculum Instruct cadets in military drill Mentor and counsel students Manage government-furnished equipment like uniforms and training aids Plan extracurricular activities such as drill teams and field trips Maintain financial accounts related to the NJROTC program and Keep up with Navy developments and complete required training. Refer to OPNAV Instruction 5761.1 and NSTC M-5761.1B for more information.

Minimum Qualifications

Posses a minimum of high school diploma (an associate degree must be completed within 5 years of hire); be a U.S. Navy Marine Corps or Coast Guard Non-Commissioned Officer (grades E6-E9) or Warrant Officer (grades W1-W5) with at least 8 years of cumulative honorable service; have retired or separated within the past 5 years or currently serve in the Navy Reserve Marine Corps Reserve or Coast Guard Reserve; and be pre-qualified by the Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) as a JROTC instructor. Payday
