Job Description

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs preparing cost reports and ensuring accurate cost allocation to support financial planning and decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculation and Review of rates

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes related to cost analysis.

  • Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs.

  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost data.

  • Support internal and external audits with cost-related documentation.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly cost accounting reports for management review.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.

  • 24 years of cost accounting experience preferably in manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and GAAP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with standard costing and variance analysis.

  • Knowledge of inventory management and cost allocation methods.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.

Work Environment:

This position is based in an office setting at Teledyne DGOs Portsmouth NH facility with occasional interaction with production teams.
