Overview
Were seeking a Senior Revenue Cycle Informaticist to join our Electronic Health Record (Epic) support team. Youll play a key role in developing implementing training on and supporting our EHR systems to optimize revenue cycle workflows and drive system improvements across the organization. This role provides advanced support to the Revenue Cycle Informaticists and serves as a liaison between system departments and end users.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Location: Applicants must reside in the Quad Cities Cedar Rapids IA or Dubuque IA. This role is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities
Client/End User Education:
- Serve as the subject matter expert and maintain advanced knowledge of the Epic application(s) and teach the application(s) to others within the organization following the standardized and best practice curriculum.
Independently evaluate complex workflows to troubleshoot and identify opportunities to optimize and remove barriers.
Lead and provide educational updates related to registration/scheduling/billing applications for informaticists and staff through classroom sessions 1:1 instruction or using remote technology.
Provide classroom instruction for new hires as needed.
Identify and develop Epic workflows to support process changes and enhance the overall workflow of the clinic or department.
Lead and coordinate training programs with the various functional departments to achieve and reinforce organizational goals. This may include programs specific to quality regulatory or insurance requirements and incentives.
Assists with pre-planning and on-site support activities associated with the onboarding of new departments.
Communicate all Epic related information to affected staff in a timely and effective manner using a variety of methods when appropriate.
Responsible for creating content and distributing newsletters and facilitating super user education.
Responsible for coordinating new informaticists onboarding activities including Epic credentialing preparedness and on-site shadowing.
Represents the Revenue Cycle Informatics team on system-wide projects and initiatives such as new Epic module implementations.
Assessment/Planning:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic functionality and workflows related to Revenue Cycle areas.
- Oversee and assess Epic competency levels of informatics team members and staff
- Assist leadership in identifying additional training needed to strengthen performance and increase efficiency of informatics team and end users.
- Provide advanced training to elevate the informatics team and leadership knowledge of Epic applications.
- Support IT revenue cycle management and operational leadership to monitor effectiveness of training efforts. Monitoring may include routine review of reports and utilization data used in the development of action plans.
- Serve as chair and/or participate in committees and workgroups as needed to address specific issues or assist in the development of revised or new programs. This may include agenda preparation meeting coordination and submitting timely minutes/documentation.
- Coordinate data and reporting needs with the end user and reporting team as needed and analyze data or submit reports as assigned.
Customer Service/Technical Support:
- Responsible for assisting the end user and IT in complex and elevated Epic or computer related issues which may include the submission and/or tracking of service tickets.
- Responsible for chart correction review and resolution.
- Responsible for timely responses to inquiries from end users via the Get Help button and shared email.
- Identifies tracks and seeks approval for enhancement requests and assists in the prioritization and implementation of these system changes.
- Supports successful enhancements and upgrades by completing testing and review of materials prior to implementation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience (minimum four years) in medical practice management or healthcare related IT systems/training.
Experience:
- Experience with Revenue Cycle Epic applications required
- Medical/billing office background required
Certifications/Licenses:
- Epic credentialed trainer status for registration/scheduling/billing
- Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
