As the Senior Manager Strategy & Governance youll work closely with the Executive team to shape WAPHAs Strategic Plan and priority initiatives. You will lead the refinement and engagement of the Strategic Plan and oversee the implementation of appropriate strategies frameworks processes and procedures required for robust governance and risk management.

Location: WAPHA Head Office Level 2 1 Hood Street Subiaco (Hybrid Role)

Employment Type: Maximum term contract for 2 years

Salary: Band 7 ($179k-$215k Plus 12% Superannuation & Salary Packaging)

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead the development review and implementation of WAPHAs Strategic Plan and priority initiatives working closely with the Executive team to drive organisation-wide alignment.
  • Provide strategic foresight through environmental scanning policy analysis and synthesis to inform future direction and organisational priorities.
  • Translate Commonwealth and State health policy and strategy into practical deliverable initiatives that support WAPHAs role as a commissioner of primary health care services.
  • Deliver high-level strategic policy and performance advice through briefings position papers reports and recommendations to the Executive Board and leadership teams.
  • Strengthen governance capability and culture across the organisation by providing expert guidance education and coaching in corporate clinical and risk governance.
  • Provide advice to Executive and Board in meeting governance regulatory and statutory obligations including effective Board and SubCommittee engagement and reporting.
  • Oversee the organisations governance frameworks policies delegations and compliance requirements to ensure best practice and regulatory alignment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical governance and risk management frameworks that proactively identify monitor and mitigate organisational risk.
  • Provide expert advice on risk quality and clinical governance matters driving continuous improvement and accountability across the organisation.
  • Steward key partnerships and support effective multiagency governance engagement and delivery outcomes.

About you

To be considered for this role candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education

  • Tertiary qualifications in Public Health Community Services Governance or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational leadership capability with a strong track record of translating organisational objectives into clear measurable strategic plans.
  • Extensive experience in governance risk management and regulatory compliance within complex and highly regulated environments.
  • Proven success leading enterprisewide initiatives and continuous improvement programs bringing together multiple disciplines to deliver highimpact outcomes.
  • Significant experience in a senior strategic or policy role within health community or related sectors.
  • A strong ability to simplify complex strategy policy and governance requirements into practical valueadding business outcomes.
  • Highly developed conceptual analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify emerging issues trends and risks and respond effectively.
  • Advanced negotiation influencing and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to build consensus resolve issues and broker agreement at senior levels.
  • Sound and current knowledge of the Western Australian health system including relevant policies funding and system complexities.
