Duty Days: 230 days per year
This position is grant funded and continuation is dependent upon satisfactory performance and availability of grant funds.
Primary Purpose:
The AEL Aide is critical to the success of our students staff and the program. The administrative support role duties can vary on program needs but ultimately all duties are to assist in ensuring the program provides the best services possible to all served by the program in compliance with program district and state requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Previous clerical office and customer service experience preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Bilingual preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in supporting staff as assigned by supervisor
- Assist with intake and orientation events
- Assist with preparation of instructional materials for use by instructors when assigned
- Assist instructor in providing individual support for students when assigned
- Assist with technology support
- Organize use and maintain supplies materials and equipment
- Assist in providing community and social service referrals and support for students
- Assist in administering scoring and evaluating diagnostic tests
- Assist in preparing student folders and maintaining student records
- Assist in collecting data for reports
- Provide support to the Data Specialist when required by supervisor
- Check Denton ISD assigned email at least once a day during the school week
- Follow directions and work as an effective member of the team to ensure the success of the program
- Understand and use the TEAMS data system
- Show respect for cultural differences
Other Related Duties:
- Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participates in professional development department meetings and special events as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling squatting bending and stooping
Motion: Moderate walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun heat cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise; may require occasional district-wide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
