About the role

We are looking for reliable caring and compassionate Domestic Services Assistants (DSA) to bring joy to our residents day.

Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team you will:

• Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
• Carpet cleaning of all areas using a carpet cleaner
• Cleaning residents rooms including ensuites furniture and equipment as appropriate and communal and administrative areas
• Ensure common living areas hallways and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards verandas) are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition
• Ensure the safe storage security and labelling of appropriate cleaning materials in line with the MSDS and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal
• Replenishing cleaning liquids and materials whilst observing safety procedures
• Report stock shortages breakages building equipment or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager

This opportunity is perfect for someone who is available to work each Tuesday or Wednesday and every 2nd Friday all shifts are during business hours you will also have the opportunity to pick up shifts at the Mulgrave site or one of our other sites.

About you

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents families employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client service

• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
• Experience using a professional carpet cleaner
• Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality.
• Commitment to work as part of a team
