Samsung Electronics America Inc. is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Intern Program. This exciting opportunity offers a paid 10-week experience for selected senior or recently graduated students. The program will run from June 1 to August 7.

Eligible students will be seniors or recent graduates possess U.S. work authorization and be able to work full-time on a 5-day-per-week on-site schedule. Additionally participation in this program requires that you be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis so early submission is encouraged. The application window is open until March 15 2026; however it may close earlier if all available roles are filled. Applications submitted after the application window or once a role is closed/projects are full will not be considered.

You will be part of the Samsung eCommerce Platform Engineering working on machine learning systems that detect and prevent fraud while minimizing false positives. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and be mentored throughout the internship. You will contribute to real-world production facing ML workflows that power fraud detection at scale across Samsungs eCommerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design development and testing of software applications and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Write clean efficient and well-documented code in accordance with best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews debugging and optimization activities.

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and software development methodologies to inform project decisions.

  • Prepare technical documentation including design specifications and user guides.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Sciences or a related field.

  • Coursework on hands-on projects in Machine learning Data Mining or applied AI

  • Expereince with Python ML/data libraries eg. pandas XGBoost or similar

  • Familiarity with SQL based data analysis and exploratory data analysis

  • Interest in Fraud detection risk modeling or applied machine learning

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers product teams

Technical Skills Required:

  • Strong Fundamentals in Computer science: Data Structures Algorithms OS/Networking basics and Linux fundamentals

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis model development and scriping

  • Working knowledge of machine learning concepts (supervised learning classification model evaluations bias/variance) Familiarity with Tree based model XGBoost Random Forest etc.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP AWS) and version control

  • Understanding of REST APIs and microservice concepts

The hourly rate for this role is $47. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience and comparison to other employees in the role.
