From
19 January 2026 eligible internationally trained
General Physicians and
General Paediatricians can apply
directly to the Medical Board of Australia
without going through a full
Australian college assessment.
This is a
fast-track route to specialist registration and consultant-level practice in Australia.
Who is eligible General Paediatrics- UK: MRCPCH CCT (from Aug 2007)
- Ireland: MRCPI (Paeds) CSCST (from July 2010)
- Recent general paediatrics practice required
General Medicine- UK: MRCP(UK) CCT in:
- General Internal Medicine (from Aug 2007)
- GIM Acute Medicine (from Aug 2009)
- Approved dual CCT pathways (from Aug 2019)
- Recent general medicine practice required
