As a Data Engineer youll work closely with our Data & Analytics team to onboard new projects and design robust data solutions aligned with WAPHAs architectureenabling trusted well governed data for decision making and reporting. You will own and optimise data pipelines and platforms in Microsoft Azure uplift engineering practices and proactively assure data quality so insights are reliable and timely andgoverned data is available for decisionmaking and reporting.

Employment Type: Max term until 30th September 2026 (Maternity leave cover)

Salary: Band 5 ($110k -$120k Plus 12% Superannuation)

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage the provision of ongoing maintenance and technical support through the WAPHA ITIL based ticketing system.
  • Manage ITIL Methodology for Data Engineering.
  • Manage Agile Delivery Methodology for Data Engineering Projects.
  • Manage stakeholders conduct impact analyses assess change readiness.
  • Manage the design development & delivery of Data Models and Pipelines.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor Data Model and Pipeline performance.
  • Review technology policies and plans provide guidance and assist Vendor Project Managers delivery partners and managed service providers
  • Support and engage leaders with change management activities.
  • Ability to leverage relationships with delivery partners and managed services providers such as Netlink NW Computing etc.
  • The CRM Administrator must be able to work effectively at all levels in an organization be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

About you

To be considered for this role candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Experience designing and optimising data pipelines architectures and datasets
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisation skills
  • Tertiary qualification or the latest certification in a related field.

Technical Experience

  • At least one year of experience working in Azure Services or an equivalent cloud platform (e.g. Azure Data Factory Azure Data Lake Azure Functions Azure Data Factory SynapsePowerBI etc.).
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases for querying and data transformation.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience withPythonfor data processing scripting and automation.
  • Basic knowledge of version control (GitHub)
