PRIMARY PURPOSE: AHF Products has a great part-time short-term opportunity for an Engineering Technician in our Maintenance Department at our Kankakee Flooring Plant in Kankakee IL. We are looking for an energetic self-driven detailed orientated individual who has some mechanical understanding of how equipment runs proficient computer skills and the ability to build a new system to track our roll inventory. This position will have responsibilities on the manufacturing floor and office setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Utilize systems to pull information to create roll management system
- Spend time on manufacturing floor to understand the roll system and components
- Create diagrams blueprints and drawings for the rolls
- Create procedures for scheduling and completing roll changes
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to roll inventory
- Assist in creation of documentation/training documents
- Other engineering tasks as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Understand how to read diagrams blueprints and drawings
- Ability to understand how the equipment runs and ensure all components align with diagrams
- Ability to convey ideas clearly and listen actively to others
- Strong written verbal and analytical skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of computer experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Project management abilities with excellent communication abilities
- Must be able to work independently or in a group setting
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check employment verification and drug screening
- Positive and Verifiable Work History
- Must follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment e.g. safety glasses side shields approved safety shoes and other PPE as needed
