Job Summary

PRIMARY PURPOSE: AHF Products has a great part-time short-term opportunity for an Engineering Technician in our Maintenance Department at our Kankakee Flooring Plant in Kankakee IL. We are looking for an energetic self-driven detailed orientated individual who has some mechanical understanding of how equipment runs proficient computer skills and the ability to build a new system to track our roll inventory. This position will have responsibilities on the manufacturing floor and office setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Utilize systems to pull information to create roll management system
Spend time on manufacturing floor to understand the roll system and components
Create diagrams blueprints and drawings for the rolls
Create procedures for scheduling and completing roll changes
Maintain accurate records pertaining to roll inventory
Assist in creation of documentation/training documents
Other engineering tasks as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Understand how to read diagrams blueprints and drawings
Ability to understand how the equipment runs and ensure all components align with diagrams
Ability to convey ideas clearly and listen actively to others
Strong written verbal and analytical skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

3 years of computer experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Project management abilities with excellent communication abilities
Must be able to work independently or in a group setting
Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check employment verification and drug screening
Positive and Verifiable Work History
Must follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment e.g. safety glasses side shields approved safety shoes and other PPE as needed
