The right response at the right time can change someones experience of distress. As the Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) Educator you will play a pivotal role in making that response possible. With two positions available you will deliver trauma informed recovery-oriented training that supports individuals and teams to respond early compassionately and with confidence to emotional distress.
By delivering practical skills focused education grounded in the DBI framework you will help turn empathy into action and support confident compassionate responses to distress across services. Your work will strengthen capability connection and consistency contributing to high quality DBI practice that meets real world needs.
Your day will include:
  • Delivering engaging trauma informed DBI training to individuals and teams
  • Adapting learning to suit diverse audiences and service contexts
  • Building capability through coaching mentoring and collaboration
  • Supporting quality and continuous improvement of DBI practice
  • Working in partnership with internal teams and external stakeholders

You Will Need:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health Community Services or a related human services field; or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience delivering training education or facilitation within mental health psychosocial or community services settings.
  • A positive respectful approach when working with people experiencing emotional distress and those who support them.
  • Knowledge of earlyintervention frameworks such as DBI is important along with the ability to work collaboratively and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to work flexibly both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professional integrity reflective practice and respect for boundaries.
  • The ideal candidate is compassionate ethical organised adaptable and able to build genuine relationships with diverse stakeholders.
