The role is responsible for planning and tracking RD&E IT costs and for managing customer funding associated with ZET projects. Provides financial planning and analysis support for EVPowertrain and Compression Technologies (including EVCooling and Fuel Cell) contributing to business case development cost reporting and budgeting. Operates under the guidance of the RD&E Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial insights alignment with project milestones and disciplined cost management.
Responsibilities:
Business Planning
Plan and manage cash collection for NGV leveraging updates from the Customer team during AOP 48 84 and on a monthly basis.
Based on project planning and the received collection plan determine the appropriate revenue recognition or capitalization of costs during AOP 48 84 and monthly cycles (approximately $21M).
Coordinate funding planning with other sites including China US Korea Japan and India.
Support Project Planning and Costing
Prepare AOP 48 and 84 project costing for NGV ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Calculate expected hourly rates for all functions to support forecasting and ensure correct capture of OEF costs on the project.
Collect MWO expected spending and align it with corresponding funding.
Prepare the upload file for Power BI ensuring data structure and formatting meet system requirements.
Create the internal project overview file for each GBE including Actuals Forecast for every NPO.
Support monthly project review presentations with Craig and Merisa.
Own planning and tracking of RDE IT cost ($12M) including variance analysis and reporting.
Assist in financial planning for NGV EV-Powertrain and Compression Technologies.
Support analysis of performance and variances against plan and forecast.
Collect best practices from sites and assist in implementing standardization.
Support business case build-up and reviews including updating conversion cost based on ISC input and preparing capex and RDE cost data for business cases.
Assist in prioritization of spending across sites with senior management input.
Prepare metrics to measure budget adherence expense control operational efficiency and productivity.
Conduct data analysis and summarization to provide actionable insights via dashboards.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Engineering Finance or a related field.
Masters degree (MBA or MSc in Finance) is a plus but not mandatory.
Professional certifications such as CPA CMA CIMA or CFA are advantageous.
58 years of experience in Finance FP&A Controlling or Project/Engineering Finance.
Experience working with:
R&D / RD&E environments
Manufacturing engineering or automotive industry finance
Project-based or cost-centerbased FP&A
Prior exposure to:
Budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
Business case development
Multi-site or cross-functional financial coordination
Customer-funded programs or grants (e.g. government funding tax credits)
Strong financial analysis and planning skills.
Advanced data manipulation and dashboard creation capabilities.
Knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
Ability to manage complex budgets and prioritize spending effectively.
