Job Summary

The Benefits Analyst will provide customer response to inquiries and escalated issues and utilize experience to provide the correct answer to the inquiry. This position also provides compiles transactional and administration support to the benefits plans while actively seeking administrative efficiencies and continuous process improvement. Supports Human Resources as an essential member of the Benefits & HRIS team and is responsible for facilitating the benefit enrollment process plan administration participant communications and customer service support as directed by the Benefits Manager in coordination with plan administrators and managers for all of Augusta Health offered Benefits.

Required Qualifications

2-3 years experience in a Benefits and/or HR administrative support role.
Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in human resources or related field preferred or work experience of 2 years as benefit administrator or analyst may be considered
Relevant certification or training in benefits administration is a plus
Some experience in HR or in a relevant role preferred.
Customer service experience working with the public preferred
Prefer experience working in healthcare or other complex environments.

Skills

Solid knowledge of benefit administration and legislation.
Solid knowledge of all benefit processes (new hires terminations life events etc.).
Extremely detail-oriented with exceptional customer service and follow-through abilities.
Strong understanding of culture its role in a successful organization and respect of existing culture.
Communicate effectively both verbally and written with all levels of staff (peers management and leadership).
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel and Outlook).
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive information.
Foster good public relations for the department and the organization. Has ability to relate to team members patients volunteers medical staff and visitors.
