Required: High School diploma as minimum. Must be at least 21 years of age due to alcohol sales. Currently certified or ability to obtain all food and beverage certifications through on-line or classroom participation. Retail experience with cash register operation program registration and phone reservations. Maintain DCFS mandated reporter certificate or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred: Knowledge of game of golf and general golf course operations is preferred.
Essential Functions of the Position
Park District Cornerstones
- Follow all departmental safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of Park Districts safety and risk management program.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with residents colleagues the public PDRMA and other agencies or organizations as delegated.
- Recommends improvements and efficiencies to better accomplish individual and district goals in the best interests of the St. Charles Park District community.
- Comply with park district policies and administrative procedures.
Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the Golf Course Manager & PGA Golf Pro the Golf Shop Assistant shall complete their assigned duties to the best of their abilities offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees. This position requires extensive knowledge and ability to:
- Work harmoniously with Park District personnel in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner.
- Effectively communicate both orally and through computer generated reports.
- Effectively react to problem areas whether public or employee related.
- Work to accomplish all tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Interpret and apply the Park District and golf course policies rules and regulations.
- Report any serious problems and/or situations involving the golf course and its operations to the Assistant Golf Pro or Manager.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the golf course operation and the Park Districts Safety Program.
