Job Summary

A highly regarded independent school in Birmingham is seeking an accomplished and engaging Teacher of Geography to join its thriving Humanities faculty. The Role

You will teach Geography across KS3KS5 delivering a curriculum that balances physical and human geography with contemporary global issues. Lessons encourage enquiry debate and independent thinking supported by clear academic expectations and strong examination preparation.

At Sixth Form level students are confident articulate and highly motivated. They engage readily with complex concepts such as climate systems geopolitics and development and respond well to challenge.

Teachers are trusted professionals and given genuine autonomy over lesson delivery within a coherent departmental framework.


The Geography Department

The Geography department is well established collaborative and academically ambitious. Schemes of work are carefully sequenced but flexible allowing teachers to bring their own expertise and interests into the classroom.

Fieldwork is an important part of the curriculum and is thoughtfully planned with both local and residential studies embedded at appropriate stages. These trips are well supported and valued as an integral part of learning not an add-on.

The department works closely with other Humanities subjects particularly History and Economics to reinforce analytical writing and evaluative thinking.
