Job Summary
Our client is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to join an Outstanding-rated secondary school in Slough on an ASAP basis. This is a key support role within a high-performing Science department ideal for someone who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and supporting high-quality practical science lessons.
The school offers a professional calm working environment where support staff are valued and work closely with teaching colleagues.
The Role
Preparing equipment and materials for practical Science lessons
Supporting Biology Chemistry and Physics teaching across the department
Ensuring laboratories are safe clean and well organised
Managing stock levels and ordering equipment and materials as required
Supporting health & safety procedures and risk assessments
Assisting with the maintenance and safe disposal of chemicals and materials
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory-based role
A good understanding of laboratory safety and health & safety procedures
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive and reliable approach to work
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
The legal right to work in the UK
