Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The MaintenanceTechnicianensures that all hotel facilities and equipmentoperateefficiently and safely. This role involves responding to repair requests performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issues across multiple systems. The engineer is proactive inidentifyingpotential problems andmaintainingequipment to prevent breakdowns while delivering excellent guest service. This is a seasonal position starting mid May and ending mid September.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
Post-high school training in engineering or maintenance-related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of building maintenance experience.
Hotel experience is a plus.
PhysicalRequirements:
Ability to move lift carry push and pull objects weighing up to 50lbswithoutassistance;assistwith objects over 100 lbs.
Ability to move up and down stairs service ramps and ladders.
Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees bending twisting pulling and stooping.
Must be able to work in physically demanding environments and adapt to varying conditions.
Must be able to bend stoop and reach during inspections and cleaning tasks.
General Requirements
Strong knowledge of safety and security policies and procedures.
Ability to follow Hazardous Material Management Program and Lockout/Tag-out procedures.
Skilled in using proper equipment and wearingappropriate PPE.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Professional demeanor integrity and reliability.
Strong communicationskills and ability to interact positively with guests.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Fundamental Requirements:
Respond promptly to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues independently.
Conduct daily inspections of the property toidentifysafety hazards broken equipment and areas needing repair or renovation.
Troubleshoot and repair various systems including plumbing electrical HVAC and mechanical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance andmaintainknowledge of building systems and emergency response procedures.
Handle minor carpentry painting drywall repair and cosmetic fixes.
Operate engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance and energy management.
Program TVs and assist with general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
Ensure safe operation and storage of tools and equipment.
Use correct lifting techniquesand maintaina clean safe work environment.
Performadditionalduties asassigned to support hotel operations.
In accordance with New Jersey State Legislature (New Jersey Legislature Bill S2310 Sca (1R)) which requires private employers with ten (10) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs promotion or transfer opportunities. This position pays $18 - $22 dependent on experience.
