SimulationSimulation Design and Development:
Collaborate with educators and simulation specialists to design and develop realistic simulation scenarios aligned with the medical schools curriculum.
Integrate clinicalexpertiseandevidence-based practice to create immersive learning experiences for healthcare professionals.
Work closely with faculty clinicians and simulation team members to coordinate schedules assess learning needs and enhance simulation-based learning initiatives.
Actively participate in simulation-based professional development and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
Collaborate in reviewing and developing case materials including Wichita-specific simulation documentation.
Serve as a clinical subject matter resource formaintainingthe quality and realism of simulation-based education.
Facilitation and Role Portrayal:
Facilitate simulation sessions for interprofessional groups including medical students nursing students residents and other healthcare professionals.
Portray various clinical roles (primarily a nurse) during simulation scenarios interacting with learners and providing realism and clinical guidance.
Communicate actively with the control room team to manage scenario flow and troubleshoot in real-time.
Assist learners in navigating simulation objectives and maintaining clear direction throughout the simulation experience.
Clinical Skills Teaching:
Provide demonstrations andteaching of key clinical skills such as IV insertion CPR (including chest compressions) airway management and defibrillator use as applicable to simulation cases.
Debriefing and Reflective Learning:
Guide and mentor participants during simulation activities promoting clinical reasoning and teamwork.
Lead orassistin post-simulation debriefing sessions tofacilitatereflective learning and reinforce best practices in patient care.
Simulation Operational Supportand Equipment:
Operate simulation equipment and software ensuring seamless execution of sessions.
Leadthepreparation breakdown and cleanup of simulation sessions.
Support inventory and management of supplies and simulation equipment.Organize andmonitorsimulation suppliesensureappropriate stocklevels and report supply needs or reorder requests to the Simulation Center Program Manager.
Leaddaily simulation activities including coordination of supplies room readiness and learner orientation on simulation session days.
Complete cross-training with simulation technologists in basicmanikinsetup and operation.
Department Coordination:
Assistwith onboarding and orientation of new faculty standardized patients and volunteers specific to simulation education under the supervision of the Simulation Center Program Manager or Director.
Collaborate with the Program Manager and Simulation Directortoidentifyday-to-day operational needs but does not independently overseeor makeprogramming scheduling budgetary or staffing decisions.

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certification/Licenses:
Registered Nurse (RN)-Current licensurenot.

1-yearclinical experience in a healthcare setting.

At the University of Kansas Medical Center a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
