Office of Early Childhood Operations

Job Focus Area

The Education Consultant 1/2 serves as the Early Childhood Access and Workforce Coordinator. This pivotal role is housed within the Office of Early Childhood Strategy and is dedicated to two critical missions: expanding family access to high-quality early childhood education (ECE) and building a robust supported workforce of ECE professionals. You will lead efforts to dismantle barriers to enrollment for underserved populations while developing the recruitment and retention strategiessuch as mentoring and recognition programsthat sustain the heartbeat of Louisianas early childhood community.

Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Proven experience in analyzing community service gaps and implementing targeted outreach strategies to increase program enrollment among underserved populations.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a high-level liaison between government agencies ECE providers health services and parents.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus one year of experience in education teaching or administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As an Education Consultant for Early Childhood you will:
  • Implement outreach strategies to boost family awareness and enrollment in programs like Head Start and Pre-K.
  • Coordinate technical assistance and training regarding licensing and child development.
  • Analyze community data to identify service gaps and underserved populations.

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Job Appointment. This Position will be filled as a temporary job appointment that may last up to 4 years.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
Career Progression: This position does not participates in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:
Work days are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Education Consultant 2 (AS-617)

Hourly: $27.07 $46.41

Monthly: $2165.60 $3712.80

Annually: $56306 $96533


**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series has a special entrance rate (SER) of $25.30 hourly $2024 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and notthe maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
