Learning Support Assistant

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2026.

Our Narre Warren South campus is seeking two part time Secondary Learning Support Assistants to each work 4 days per week (8:45am-3:30pm during term time FTE 0.658) who desires to play a vital role in the creation of an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Both roles are fixed term contracts one until the end of April 2026 (with a potential for extension) and the other until the end of Term 4 2026.

You are an integral part of our school community and educational team acting as a bridge between students and their teacher and help to foster connections between students and their peers. By ensuring each student receives the support they need to actively participate in school and class youll have the rewarding experience of seeing them achieve milestones they might not have reached on their own.

Successful candidates may be allocated to work with students in the mainstream and/or SPARC (Supported Program of Applied Readiness for Community) based on their suitability and expertise.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have or are working towards a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support or are working toward qualification in Teaching/Educationor have extensive experience relevant to the duties performed
• Have a passion for supporting students with disabilities
• Are able to collaborate effectively with teachers students and other support staff
• Can demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills
• Have good administrative and Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
• Enjoy working in a team environment
• Are able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education
• Are willing to get involved in all aspects of the Colleges programs and opportunities

A Working with Childrens Check and a Police Check less than three months old are mandatory prior to being hired. A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) CPR Certificate (HLTAID009) and Anaphylaxis Certificate (22578VIC or HLTAID012) are also required prior to starting in the role.
