Job Summary
Power BI Developer-Business Analyst
Remote
Knowledge:
- Expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service including data modeling DAX Power Query and report lifecycle management.
- Understanding of BI concepts (ETL semantic modeling data governance) and SQL/relational databases.
- Familiarity with enterprise data sources (SQL Server SharePoint Azure Synapse Dataverse).
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and terminology especially Medicaid data and regulatory reporting.
- Awareness of Microsoft cloud ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Lake) and integrations with Power Apps Power Automate and Teams.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles for dashboard design and data storytelling.
- Knowledge of Power BI Paginated Reports and row-level security.
Skills:
- Proficient in designing engaging interactive Power BI reports and dashboards with advanced features (drill-through bookmarks custom visuals).
- Strong DAX and Power Query skills for dynamic measures and data transformation.
- Capable of optimizing report performance and managing datasets within Power BI Service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
- Skilled at data storytelling and clear presentation of insights.
- Effective collaboration with stakeholders data engineers and leadership; strong communication and requirements gathering skills.
Abilities:
- Able to create user-friendly dashboards aligned with business needs and branding.
- Capable of prototyping iterating designs and maintaining version control.
- Manage multiple projects prioritize tasks and document data models and processes.
- Identify opportunities for analytics-driven improvements and enforce BI governance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on BI tools and visualization best practices.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses or Azure Synapse.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to create custom Power BI visuals with JavaScript or TypeScript.
