Duration: 1 year contract
Shift Schedule: Rotating day evening night weekend and holiday shifts including 8 12 hour shifts.
Rotating schedules may include 7-on/7-off.
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
How many shifts needed per month: Variable based on facility operational needs
(Approximately equivalent to full-time coverage across the year)
License:
- Current valid unrestricted Pharmacist license
- License may be from any U.S. state or jurisdiction
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
Experience needed:
- Minimum 1 2 years of Registered Pharmacist experience preferred (Hospital inpatient outpatient or ED experience strongly preferred)
Special Skills needed:
- Proficiency in medication order review and clinical assessment
- Strong knowledge of dosing renal adjustments drug interactions contraindications and allergies
- Experience with EHR systems (IHS/RPMS preferred)
- Familiarity with pharmacy automation systems (ScriptPro Omnicell Innovation NEXiA preferred)
- Ability to provide culturally competent care particularly to Native American populations
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Review verify and clinically assess medication orders
- Dispense prepare label and verify medications
- Provide patient counseling and medication education
- Support inpatient outpatient and Emergency Department pharmacy operations
- Respond to urgent medication needs and clinical inquiries
- Document all pharmacy activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Participate in medication use evaluations adverse drug reaction reporting and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain controlled substance accountability and inventory management
- Comply with IHS Joint Commission HIPAA and facility policies
