Job Title: Food Safety and Quality Assurance GM
Location: Nationwide (Remote & Travel Required)
Reports to: Kitchen Group General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time Exempt
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced FSQA General Manager to help develop organize and supervise comprehensive quality and food safety programs. These programs will be designed to meet operational plans customer expectations and regulatory compliance. The FSQA General Manager would be required to conduct scheduled as well as unannounced internal inspections audits and peer reviews of Kitchen operations sites. This involves developing and overseeing food safety programs managing audits ensuring regulatory compliance with agencies like the FDA and USDA and implementing corrective actions for any issues. This role also involves training staff maintaining records and coordinating with other departments to uphold the integrity of the food supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nationwide Team Leadership: Lead and oversee quality and food safety programs across all clients Kitchen locations ensuring alignment with standards customer expectations and regulatory requirements. This includes managing mentoring and developing a team of 10 Kitchen Quality professionals located throughout the United States ensuring effective collaboration and performance across different time zones.
- Program Management: Develop implement and manage comprehensive food safety and quality management systems including HACCP and other food safety programs according to SQF USDA FDA and customer requirements.
- Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards from federal state and customer bodies. This includes preparing for and coordinating with regulatory and third-party auditors
- Operational Oversight: Supervise and manage the quality assurance and sanitation staff ensuring daily tasks are completed and quality standards are maintained throughout the warehouse operations.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with Logistics and Service Center Managers to drive continuous process improvement and implement best practices across all locations.
- Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics lead quarterly performance reviews and foster skill development within the team.
- Risk assessment and problem-solving: Investigate customer complaints conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality or safety issues
- Training and Documentation: Train staff on food safety protocols and procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining all quality and food safety records and documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Financial & Strategic Reporting: Prepare financial and management reports present industry rate trends and align logistics operations with business objectives.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to company policies industry regulations and safety standards including OSHA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in food manufacturing quality compliance or food safety role.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bachelors degree preferred in food science public health biology microbiology or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing diverse teams
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
- HACCP Certification
- PCQI/FSMA Certification
- SQF Practitioner
- Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
