Job Summary
AWS DevOps Engineer / Release Engineer
Location: Atlanta GA - Hybrid (Onsite 2 Days/Week)
Interview Type: In-Person Only
Duration: Long-term Contract
Role Overview
The Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer is responsible for designing automating and maintaining cloud configuration release and infrastructure management processes across the State of Georgias AWS environments. This role ensures highly available secure compliant and well-governed cloud platforms through effective automation Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patch management backup strategy and certificate governance.
The engineer will work closely with DevOps Security and Infrastructure teams to support stable reliable statewide services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience.
8 years of configuration management experience including:
Terraform and IaC methodologies
AWS services (EC2 S3 RDS IAM ACM)
Cloud backup and automated patching
SSL/TLS certificate management
Preferred Qualifications
Scripting experience (Python Bash PowerShell).
AWS and/or Terraform Certifications.
Experience in state or local government environments.
Vendor management experience.
Familiarity with Agile and project management tools.
Organizational Change Management (OCM) experience.
