ISP Monitor Role Profile

Purpose of Role

The School Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety well-being and appropriate behavior of students during school hours and activities. This role supports the smooth operation of daily routines by supervising students in common areas assisting with transitions and promoting a respectful and orderly school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during arrival recess lunch and dismissal times to ensure safety and good behavior.
  • Monitor hallways playgrounds cafeterias and other common areas.
  • Support teachers and administrative staff in maintaining discipline and a positive school atmosphere.
  • Assist in organizing and managing student lines transitions and transportation routines.
  • Report any incidents accidents or disciplinary issues to the appropriate authority.
  • Provide assistance to students when needed ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and order in school areas.
  • Support school events and activities as required.

  • Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of students calmly and effectively.
  • Observant and attentive to detail.
  • Patient respectful and fair when dealing with students.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; additional training or coursework in education or child supervision is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish is a plus.
