Ravenscroft is seeking a Science Teacher and Advisor () in the Upper School Science Department to contribute meaningfully to our student-centered mission-driven community. This is a full-time exempt 10-month faculty position.
This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative collaborates thoughtfully communities clearly and continuously reflects and grows as part of the school community.
What Youll Do
- Teach a full course load (approximately five sections) of Upper School science which may include Biology Chemistry Physics and/or science electives.
- Design and deliver engaging student-centered instruction aligned with Ravenscrofts mission to nurture individual potential and prepare students to thrive in a complex and interdependent world.
- Create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners through culturally responsive teaching differentiated instruction and adaptive pedagogical practices.
- Infuse lessons with current events relevant fieldwork laboratory research and meaningful use of technology and creativity.
- Serve as an advisor to approximately 12 students supporting their academic social-emotional and leadership development through the Lead From Here curriculum.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and utilize instructional technology and learning management systems including Canvas and Veracross to support student learning and departmental goals.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Science or Science Education
- Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Upper School science
- Clear communication collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to working in a diverse equitable inclusive and mission-aligned school community
- Growth mindset curiosity and openness to feedback and professional growth
Prefered:
- Masters degree in Science Science Education or a related field
- Experience teaching Upper School science in a K12 or independent school setting
- Experience supporting social-emotional learning inside and outside the classroom
- Willingness and ability to participate in the broader school community including coaching athletics and/or Science Olympiad
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role is based on Ravenscrofts campus and includes work in classrooms and shared community spaces. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus lead classrooms and use instructional technology regularly and communicate effectively with students and colleagues. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
