Lead Teacher - Curriculum Design and Development

Position Summary
The Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation (CTEi) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Teacher to manage and develop a new consistent curriculum template for all vocational and technical programs. This critical short-term contractual role is essential for addressing the curriculum alignment and consistency recommendations from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) to ensure compliance with Foundational Element 2.2a. The successful candidate will model best practices and facilitate collaboration among CTEi staff to implement a high-quality competency-based curriculum.
Contract Details Compensation: $40.00 per hour
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
- Term: Contractual (Specific end date to be determined based on project needs and NEASC deadlines)
- Reports To: CTEi Administration
Key Responsibilities
- Template Design: Design and develop a standardized consistent template for curriculum mapping and unit planning for all CTEi courses.
- Model Development: Create a model scope and sequence tool that aligns with state frameworks expected course outcomes essential questions and assessments for a specific vocational area.
- Facilitation & Training: Facilitate professional development sessions for CTEi vocational teachers guiding them in the use of the new curriculum templates and ensuring understanding of NEASC curriculum expectations and continued support while implementing this template.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of current curriculum design principles instructional best practices and assessment strategies.
- Experience in a Career Technical Education (CTE) environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent collaboration communication and organizational skills.
