Reports to: SN Manager
Shift: Monday - Friday 188 days including 8 holidays 7:30 AM-1:30 PM
Starting Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour D.O.E. (Benefits & Overtime eligible)
Purpose
The SN Aide will work under the direction of the SN Manager to prepare and serve nutritious high-quality meals for students and staff within the school district. This position involves supporting meal preparation maintaining kitchen cleanliness ensuring proper food handling practices and assisting in the overall operation of the school nutrition program. This position requires adherence to state and federal guidelines support of District goals and initiatives and dedication to growing the SN program both at their assigned school and throughout the district.
Essential Job Duties
Demonstrate a positive motivating and caring attitude for students staff and guests while representing the standards of the Belgrade School District
Assist in the preparation and serving of food items for the meal program
Maintain kitchen and serving areas in clean safe and sanitary condition
Clean dishes pots pans and equipment
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned operational area
Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
Handle food according to proper sanitation regulations and follow safety standards
Perform all duties in food preparation meal serving and kitchen as assigned by the head cook
Ability to attend mandatory meetings outside of regularly scheduled work hours
Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential part of the job
Knowledge Skills Abilities
Must be able to quickly learn kitchen equipment and tools
Possess some knowledge of materials and methods used in cooking
Possess some knowledge of kitchen equipment and how it operates
Demonstrate personal hygiene and maintain a neat appearance
Possess knowledge of sanitation standards and chemical use in the kitchen
Flexibility to work irregular hours depending on the needs of the food service department
Ability to effectively communicate with students parents and staff
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student matters
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board policies
Possess physical strength stamina and endurance with the ability to do vigorous manual work and heavy lifting
Required Qualifications
Any combination of training education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school
Possess a willingness to learn about K-12 food services operations
Ability to effectively operate with instruction commercial kitchen machinery and equipment
Successful work experience showing suitable punctuality and attendance
Preferred Qualification
Experience working in commercial kitchens
Necessary Special Requirements
Must have or be able to quickly complete Food Handlers Certification
Must complete a minimum of 8 hours of annual training including mandatory USDA Professional Standard Training
Requirements
Will work with the SN Manager to develop an annual individualized training program

Repetitive movements of arms wrists hand grasping and hand squeezing
Repetitive movements reaching
Required to lift carry up and push/pull up to 50 pounds regularly with or without an accommodation
Regularly works inside in a kitchen environment
May work on slippery surfaces
Required to stand regularly and for lengthy periods of time and occasionally walk and crouch
Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints
Tolerate a moderate to loud noise level in the work environment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Required to be able to hear conversations in both loud and quiet environments
Guidance and reinforcement are usually available but must be able to work independently
Works inside with minimal temperature variations
Frequently works within time constraints and must maintain attentiveness intensity
Frequently involved in interactions which require oral and written communications
Exercises flexibility and the ability to shift from one task to another
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts involved in industrial kitchen operation
Work area is generally a hazard free environment but attentiveness is critical
