Who We Are Seeking: An individual who is passionate about supporting Tribal youth and strengthening cultural educational and prevention-focused programming. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the Tribal Youth Program by assisting with planning coordinating and delivering youth activities and events such as Native Youth Olympics (NYO) Rural Youth Services Culture Camp and other youth programs. The Youth Program Assistant also supports youth-related Tribal Court initiatives including Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court and Youth Attendance Achievement Court activities while helping with recordkeeping data tracking outreach and community engagement. The ideal candidate is organized dependable youth-centered and committed to working collaboratively in a Tribal and court-connected environment.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred. We are willing to provide training for CNV Tribal citizens.
- Excellent interpersonal customer service and leadership skills including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as part of a team.
- Strong time management problem-solving and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet competing deadlines.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Drivers license and the ability to be insured on CVTCs vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638 preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
