Summary:
MS Technology is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to guide our clients Corrective Action Program. As a Regulatory Engineer you will dig into root causes like a detective and make sure issues are resolved and prevented in partnership with regulators and site teams. Think of it as being part investigator part strategist and part quality champion all while ensuring compliance with some of the most important safety and regulatory standards in the energy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Corrective Actions Program by reviewing identified issues and re-assigning to personnel responsible for development of corrective actions.
- With the assistance of a team of managers review and approve corrective actions prior to closing issues.
- Independently plans schedules coordinates and completes moderately complex regulatory assignments (such as preparation and submittal of License Amendment Requests replies to Notice of Violation NOVs or submittal of Event Reports)
- Coordinates changes to Licensing Basis documents
- Develop detailed schedules (e.g. Licensing actions commitment implementation etc.) and monitors/reports progress against schedule milestones
- Tracks regulatory commitment related issues actions and subtasks utilizing the web-based corrective actions tracking system
- Stores and retrieves regulatory correspondence utilizing the electronic data management system
- Coordinates NRC TDEC and/or DOE inspection activities and site visits. Responds to Inspectors requests for information and processes Inspectors reports
- Maintains controlled copy of the License and other License Basis documents and uses site processes for reviewing changes. Research questions concerning application of regulatory requirements
- Gathers and tabulates information relative to regulatory concerns questions or initiatives
- Assists with development of regulatory guidance to resolve issues concerning the License and License Basis documents and coordinates policy decisions with Regulatory Manager
- Interfaces as required with company and contract personnel to support licensing and compliance activities. Assist personnel in implementing License and License Basis requirements
- Ensures that input and reviews from all organizations meet policy and procedure requirements for technical accuracy compliance and conservatism in addressing regulatory and safety issues
- Independently coordinates with other company locations on issues having multi-site applicability
- Draft content and format for presentations to the NRC TDEC and DOE such as for enforcement conferences management meetings etc.
- Develop change evaluations to determine the impact of site changes
- Performs the Regulatory review of procedures for other organizations
- Serves as the Site Technical Representative for contract support as required
- Participates in functional activities by serving on teams or special projects attending meetings and attending training sessions
- May be required to assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Regulatory Manager
- Keeps management informed of significant scope cost or schedule changes concerning regulatory services
- Possible travel up to 5%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience (associate degree is equal to 4 years of technical experience)
- 5 years of experience working in a TDEC NRC DOE DOD Nuclear or other regulated industry
- Proficient in the use of Word Excel and PowerPoint to generate reports charts spreadsheets and presentations
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- TDEC licensing 10 CFR Part 70 Licensing 10 CFR Part 76 Certification or DOD Nuclear experience.
- Active Q or Top Secret security clearance
