Title I Summer Enrichment Program Coordinator

(2 positions - 1 Gr. K-2; 1 Gr. 3-5)

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
  2. Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
  3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
  4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers students parents and administrators.
  5. Coordinators must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more information.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
  2. Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director
  3. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools
  4. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement
  5. License in Special Education

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate referral/recruitment process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals teachers and parents.
  2. Order / process materials
  3. Coordinate implementation of literacy and math instruction during the program.
  4. Meet with curriculum directors in Literacy Math and Instructional Supports to develop and plan for summer instruction.
  5. Maintain student attendance records.
  6. Write a program evaluation document.
  7. Coordinate pre- and post-assessments for all students in literacy and math.
  8. Coordinate staff development meetings including 2 in-service days.
  9. Support inclusion of a key professional development practice i.e. Show Call or other strategy within the summer program.
  10. Coordinate with Title I administrative assistant to maintain payroll records of teachers.
  11. Coordinators must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.

Duration: Program Administration and Implementation 190 hours total to include the following:

  • Pre/Post Program Work: Up to 100 hours (February 9 August 14)
  • Professional In-Service Days June 17 & 18 (5 hours each day) 10
  • 16 days Monday-Thursday from July 6 July 30 (8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) 5 hours each day 80

Stipend: $40 per hour $7600 total
