The Business Development Officer serves as a transformational force behind Louisianas data-driven economic development strategy. This role will harness the full power of Salesforce and other enterprise CRM tools to create integrated efficient insight-rich systems that elevate decision-making and accelerate project execution. By converting data into actionable intelligence this position strengthens statewide collaboration and helps ensure Louisiana remains a national leader in competitiveness investment attraction and workforce opportunity.

Three years of experience in economic research or development financial services international relations marketing or real estate; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Design develop and deliver advanced reports dashboards and analytical tools to support strategic and operational decision-making
Provide timely and accurate reporting to executive leadership state agencies and legislative stakeholders
Translate complex data into actionable insights to guide policy performance accountability and system improvements
Develop recurring and ad hoc reports for program managers stakeholders and strategic partners
Build and maintain performance tools including KPI dashboards pipeline management systems workforce reports and lead generation mechanisms
Advance predictive analytics to forecast performance trends and support proactive strategic planning
Collaborate with internal and external partners to assess data needs and develop datasets that enhance operational efficiency
Serve as the primary architect of business development data systems ensuring data integrity governance and inter-agency collaboration
Redesign and optimize CRM system architecture workflows and automated processes to improve coordination and data quality
Establish standards for system use data entry reporting practices and workflow management across departments
Lead cross-functional adoption and optimization of the CRM system to support department-wide performance
Design integrated workflows that support seamless data sharing across departments and partner agencies
Provide administrative and operational support for departmental initiatives including travel coordination logistics and cooperative agreements
Identify and implement emerging tools technologies and training opportunities to strengthen analytical capacity and continuous improvement

Career Progression: This position does participate in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Business Development Officer 1 or 2depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
