Were currently recruiting for a Council Tax Property Inspector to join the team.
Responsibilities
Regular inspections of domestic properties or sites that have been given planning permission and visiting commercial properties.
Ensuring new builds are identified and brought onto the council tax list promptly.
Establishing liability or entitlement to tax discount exemption or reliefs in line with legislation and policy. Taking appropriate action where reliefs no longer apply.
Arranging appointments with landlords agents business owners etc to gain access to premises.
Ensuring the database is accurate complete and up-to-date.
Liaising with other agencies and other departments within the council
All admin work related to inspections.
About You
Excellent communication skills
Solid understanding of current legislation and best practice
A good manner and ability to deal with customers with sympathy and tact
Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Full clean driving licence
Prepared to drive to properties across the Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire District Council areas (company car available)
