The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer has 24-hour multiple shift accountability for the process results of a Production Area. The CI Engineer is a critical member of MSE implementation and is the resource for technology management of the primary manufacturing systems for the department. The Process Engineer shares responsibility with the Production Leader for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts by establishing work standards and providing coaching and feedback to associates. He/she will support daily production by systematically improving the integrity of Line Event Data Systems and documenting critical operation standards to help eliminate unplanned and reduce planned downtime on equipment.
What are we looking for
Minimum:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply or a technical field AND/OR
- 5 years experience working in TPM/MSE (Continuous Improvement) in manufacturing environment
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Prior experience leading change
- Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving
- Prior experience using data driven insights to implement change
- Clear ability to relate to and motivate others
- Fluent in English
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Engineering Supply or a technical field
- Prior experience managing multiple projects at same time
- Proficient in Power BI - Creating dashboards analyze data
- Prior experience leading others
- Experience POKA Weaver
- Bilingual - Spanish
What will be your key responsibilities
- Technical representation for the value stream including insight on all unplanned line losses
- Preventative follow up on all value stream technical breakdowns and escalates for support/action through the Maintenance Team Leaders or Reliability Engineers as needed
- Provides technical continuity for complex/ongoing issues within the value stream
- Works with production and reliability leadership to analyse the unplanned technical losses of the lines in the value stream
- Coaching the operations/value stream team on ways of working to ensure maintenance & operational processes are followed
- Own all Daily Management Systems (DMS) execution and leads the Changeover (CO) Centerlines (CL< Clean Inspect and Lubricate (CIL)< and Abnormality Handling (AH) DMS.
- Conducts detailed analysis on performance data and integrates into Factory Mars Operating System (FMOS)
- Drives loss elimination for assigned area to include Line Loss Analysis and development of 90-day action plans to address losses and build associate capability
- Leads Autonomous Maintenance (AM) process improvement teams focused on the reduction of downtime and loss elimination
- Assists Production Leaders in managing the performance of their teams through coaching and skills development
- Provide overall direction to Continuous Improvement Specialists including development and performance evaluations
- Champions MSE AM deployment and all Safety and Quality standards in their area
