Job Summary
The Shaft Foreman will have 2.9.2 appointment in terms of the MHSA Act 26 of 1996 and will supervise the vertical and decline shafts as part of the logistics process.
- Drive shaft schedule for area(s) of responsibility to meet operational KPIs.
- Shaft maintenance and legal compliance.
- Managing cost overtime team morale and safety performance in area of responsibility.
- Scheduling of tasks for the shift teams in the area of responsibility.
- Veto on individual resources on their shift in the area of responsibility.
- Changing tasks on the shift to minimize the effect of unexpected problems
- Stopping the operation if the working conditions are unsafe
- Identifying employees suitable for further training
- Disciplining of employees to agreed parameters and procedures
Qualifications :
- Grade 12
- Blasting Certificate
- Onsetter Certificate
- Certificate: ABC for Engineering or ABC for Mining
- Computer literacy Basic MS Packages SAP and general use of computer
- Law and Standard will be advantageous
Experience
- Logistics experience with three years relevant mining experience
- Advantageous: at least 1-year acting/appointed as shaft foreman.
