As the Material Handling Team Manager reporting directly to the Finishing & Material Handling Value Stream Manager you are a vital leader in our operational heart. You will lead a customer-focused team of non-exempt employees across Shipping Receiving WIP and SAI ensuring the seamless movement and transactional accuracy of all chemical components and finished products. Your mission is to foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes process excellence and safety above all else.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership: Provide daily leadership to instill an injury-free workplace conducting safety huddles and ensuring compliance with all hazardous material handling protocols.
- Operational Excellence: Use Enterprise Lean Strategies (ELS) to review processes reduce waste and improve inventory accuracy through rigorous cycle counts and trailer/pallet management.
People Development: Attract and develop high-potential talent by managing the Global Performance System (GPS) providing quarterly feedback and creating cross-training opportunities to meet business needs.
Strategic Execution: Drive site improvement plans by setting clear priorities removing obstacles for your team and collaborating with Logistics to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.
Qualifications :
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency is required. A Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of operational experience is required with at least 1 year of direct team management experience. 5 years of leadership in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing complex material handling systems; the capability to become an Oracle superuser is essential. Six Sigma or APICS certifications are a significant plus.
Leadership Competencies: Demonstrated ability to Build High-Performing Diverse Teams Lead Change and Deliver Results through agility and collaboration.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to influence team behavior resolve conflicts and build cross-functional partnerships.
