Job Summary

KONE Purchasing Organization ensures competitive innovative and sustainable supply for all KONE business lines. The Global Supplier Sustainability team supports KONE and our suppliers in meeting rapidly evolving regulatory and customer expectations for sustainability. The team is part of Purchasing and works closely with KONE Environmental Ethics & Compliance and other internal stakeholders.

We are looking for energetic results-oriented and collaborative Specialist Supplier Sustainability to join Supplier sustainability team in Kunshan China.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent supplier sustainability in KONE China region and act as a single point of contact for environmental related matters for selected suppliers
  • Translate sustainability expectations (regulatory customer KONE internal) into clear actions for suppliers together with the Supplier Sustainability team.
  • Train and coach suppliers through workshops e-learning and hands-on support on sustainability-related requirements.
  • Manage and execute environmental data collection from suppliers (e.g. for legal compliance verifications Product LCA analysis Scope 3 purchased goods emission reporting)
  • Verify supplier environmental data and coordinate corrections
  • Report and share insights on supplier sustainability performance with Purchasing and other KONE stakeholders.
  • Support supplier related Ethics & Compliance initiatives such as human rights assessments trainings and hands-on coaching

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic degree
  • Fluent communication and presentation skills in Chinese and English
  • Ability to work effectively in an international environment
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand KONEs sustainability requirements and ability to educate internal and external stakeholders
  • Positive can-do mindset
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:

  • Working with suppliers in China
  • Steel industry experience including carbon emission calculations
  • Working experience with ESG Governance
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
  • Carbon footprint calculation / GHG Protocol
  • Sustainability regulation in China and/or Europe
  • Human rights or social responsibility audits
  • Training & coaching experience
