The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care in an inpatient oncology setting. This role involves assessing patient needs collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams implementing individualized care plans and ensuring adherence to evidence-based nursing practices.
Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care
Assess patient needs and determine priorities through comprehensive nursing assessments
Develop implement and coordinate individualized plans of care
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions based on patient condition and treatment plans
Manage care for patients with complex oncology diagnoses
Document nursing care in accordance with standards of practice patient acuity and clinical priorities
Advocate for evidence-based practices and support innovation in care delivery
Provide patient-centric care aligned with professional nursing practice models
Participate in ongoing assessments and reassessments throughout the patients stay
Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice
Minimum 2 years of acute adult inpatient oncology experience
Strong experience caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma
Experience managing complex oncology treatments and symptom management
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific or compact license as applicable)
BLS (AHA)
ACLS
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Certification (ONS)
Preferred:
Telemetry experience
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
