Position Overview
An acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech language and swallowing services to adolescent adult and geriatric patient populations. This role supports inpatient care and requires strong clinical judgment in assessment treatment planning and discharge coordination.
First-time travelers are accepted; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are not eligible.
Minimum Qualifications
Active State SLP License required
CCC-SLP required
BLS Certification required
Experience:
Minimum 2 years required
5 years preferred
Acute care or community hospital experience preferred
Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct bedside swallow evaluations
Assess and treat patients with CVA (stroke) and dysarthria
Develop implement and reassess individualized plans of care
Recommend and modify diet orders using compensatory strategies
Perform oral motor and speech/language assessments
Complete evaluations reassessments and discharge planning
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
