Management Accountant 9668 Permanent Contract 37 hours per week 50166 to 54277 per annum (Scale L) County Hall Norwich / Hybrid

We are looking for an experiencedfinance professional to take on a key leadership position withinthe Budgeting and Accounting Team at Norfolk County Council. Thesuccessful candidate willplay an integral role in the delivery of a first-class budgeting and accounting service across the organisation.

Our Budgeting and Accounting Team are a critical part of our organisation providing support across the breadth of our services to ensure thatwereaccountable as a council and that taxpayers are receiving the best possible value for in a large and complex environment currently going through a significant period of transformational changeyoullbe part of a talented proactive team that makes a real difference and is able to support the continual evolution and long-termobjectivesof the council.

The role will be to will lead the Education Funding Team comprising the Schools SEND & Early Years Funding teams. These teams play a key role in ensuring accurate timely and compliant allocation of funding that supports schools children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and children accessing Early Years provision. The role ensures local funding arrangements meet statutory requirements support positive educational outcomes and maintain financial integrity across the local authoritys dedicated schools grant (DSG) and associated budgets.

The core focus of the role is to work closely with our services to support day to day budgeting and accounting requirements as well as working on a range of transformational change leading a team of fourteen staff providing supportguidanceand advice to ensure the team achieveobjectives and acting as a subject matter expert for complex a local authority we are accountable to our taxpayers anditscritical that weare able tomaintaina high standard of professional accounting and that our finances and budgets are transparent and you could be working closely with any of our services this roleis currently aligned toChildrens Services supporting the department to achieve their long-term vision.

To be considered for the roleyoullneed a proven background working as an Accountant or similar ideally as part of the finance team of a large and/or complex a qualified Accountant to CCAB level with post qualification experience working in a financial environment with senior finance comfortable working closely with Finance Business Partners as well as senior level stakeholders andyoullhave the ability to influence the service at a strategic and an operational managing a team would be beneficial but more importantlywerelooking for someone with a positive and proactive approach who is able todemonstratesound financial judgement and build effective working relationships at all levels.
