These positions are available throughout various USMS Districts in the Continental US (CONUS).
The selectee of this position serves as a Financial Specialist. You will be responsible for analyzing existing District procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing program objectives and recommending changes/improvements to District management.
Duty location will be determined at the time of selection.
Pay will be determined based on duty location.
As a Financial Specialist at the GSlevel some of your typical work assignments may include:
Must complete an initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s).
This is a bargaining unit position.
Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Investigation.
GS-9 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-7 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-9 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title series and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GSlevel if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
A. Specialized Experience: One year (12-months) of full-time specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to:1) Review financial reports in order to identify problem areas and recommend solutions; 2) Analyze financial obligations and expenditures to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; 3) Advise management on procurements and/or purchase requests; and 4) Recognize and apply problem solving to complex problems. (Note: Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience.)

B. Education: A masters or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position examples of qualifying fields include Business Administration Finance Accounting Economics or Project Management (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

C. Combination of education and experience: A combination of education and experience as listed above. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).
