LACOE is seeking individuals with strong leadership and customer service skills to apply for the Custodial Shift Supervisor position.

The Custodial Shift Supervisor plans coordinates supervises and directs the shift activities of custodial personnel. The current position vacancy is for the PM Shift (12:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m.) with the understanding that the shift is subject to change. Position is subject to occasional late night and weekend shifts.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Custodial cleaning and sanitation methods and standards
  • Methods of cleaning floors restrooms windows walls doors wood and plastic furniture
  • Common cleaning materials such as soap detergent solvents and waxes
  • Safety practices as applied to custodial work
  • Custodial equipment and its care and maintenance
  • Principles and practices of employee selection supervision and performance evaluation
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience:Two years of janitorial or custodial experience. One year of experience operating in any lead or supervisory capacity which may or may not be concurrent with the required two years of janitorial or custodial experience.

Additional Requirements:A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Positions in this classification will be required to work day night late night and weekend shifts and may be required to be on-call for emergencies.

This position requires full-time in-person site attendance.

Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of multiple-choice assessment exam and a structured interview.
