Job Summary

Department:S.P.A.C.E. Camp

Job Title:S.P.A.C.E. Camp Musical Theater Teacher/Director

Reports to:S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director

Summary:SPACE Camp Musical Theater Teacher/Director will implement and put on a junior musical theater performance for incoming 5th-9th grade students within the camp setting. This role includes casting choreographing and directing a performance with three and a half weeks of preparation time in the mornings as well as coordinating a cabaret performance in the afternoons. Hours of work are 8:45 am - 3:45 pm with a half hour lunch break.

Qualifications:

Experience in a classroom setting
Musical Theater Background and directing/assistant directing experience
Teaching degree/certification strongly desired

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

Responsible for 5-15 students age 5th grade-9th grade
Teach and support students in specific courses they are teaching
Create and implement curriculum related to course subject or theme
Coordinate and collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities
Consistent reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a school/classroom environment as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel.
Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
