Job Title:S.P.A.C.E. Camp Musical Theater Teacher/Director
Reports to:S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director
Summary:SPACE Camp Musical Theater Teacher/Director will implement and put on a junior musical theater performance for incoming 5th-9th grade students within the camp setting. This role includes casting choreographing and directing a performance with three and a half weeks of preparation time in the mornings as well as coordinating a cabaret performance in the afternoons. Hours of work are 8:45 am - 3:45 pm with a half hour lunch break.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a classroom setting
- Musical Theater Background and directing/assistant directing experience
- Teaching degree/certification strongly desired
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
- Responsible for 5-15 students age 5th grade-9th grade
- Teach and support students in specific courses they are teaching
- Create and implement curriculum related to course subject or theme
- Coordinate and collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities
- Consistent reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
- Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a school/classroom environment as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
