Job Summary

Duties

Performs lifeguarding duties and limited management functions by directing the operation of the pool and the work of assigned lifeguards.
Ensures the safe operation of the pool its filtration system water balance pool chemistry and performs water test.
Ensures that safety rules are followed and is responsible for teaching aquatic swimming and water survival training.
Keeps accurate records and adequate supplies.

Conditions of employment

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
Able to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor OR American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent within 6 months of appointment.
In addition the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children
Satisfactory completion of all required background checks in accordance with AR. i. is required to include a health screening.
Must be able to work hours that may involve weekend weekdays holidays and night duty.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Possess (or in the process of obtaining) and maintain the following certificates:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification.
- American Red Cross Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification.
- American Red Cross Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification.

Education

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Governments interest.

Allowances and Differentials

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
